Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Cannot find any insurance papers

My mother-in-law died and my husband is the Service and could not make it. So, everything is being left to his brothers as going thru papers. They say that they did not find any insurance at all! Is there a way to found out that if she did or not. My husband believes that she did. But, she was not the best organizer of paperwork.

Re: Cannot find any insurance papers

In addition to looking for insurance policies, someone should go over her checkbook to see if any premiums have been paid to insurance companies.

There are no public records of policies, so either correspondence or other indications of insurance have to be found, or the policies themselves have to be found.
