Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Do I have the legal right to read my mothers will since I am the only child and sole heir of her estate even though there is a predator who has made himself power of attorney and executor of her estate? My mothers legal counsel advised her not to let me read the will, that I had no right to read it till she died. Even though everything goes to me.

No, you don't have any "right" to read her will before her death. You're not the sole heir until she's deceased. She has an absolute right to rewrite her will as often as she likes, provided that she meets the competency requirements (which are low standards in Texas.)

If you're worried about a predator, a call to Adult Protective Services may be in order. If you think your mother is not capable of handling her own affairs, you may also consider a guardianship action.

Good luck.
