Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My mother lives in Montgomery County. Last year my sister passed away & the lot that her & my mother both had their homes on was left to my mom. My sister's boyfriend, who lived with my sister has decided it should be his. The papers transferring owner ship to my mom were filed earlier this year. When my mom went to court to have him evicted, he paid the court 1,000.00 to file an appeal. We go back to court on October 5th. My mother received papers yesterday saying he was claiming ownership of everything. Is it posible for him to come back and get what my sister left my mother? What should we do? Any help is greatly appreciated.
