If your mother had a will, then you would need to probate the will. This means that you would file the will with the appropriate probate court (most likely in the county where the properties are located.) Once you go to court, you will prove that your mother is deceased and prove that the will was valid. After that, you can change the title into your name. The company can then begin sending the checks to you.

If your mom did not die in the county where the minerals are, after the will is probated, you would need to record a certified copy of the will in the Official Records of the county where the minerals are located.
