Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My mother recently passed away. My mother, husband and I all lived in the same house. My husband and I paid all the utilities. Her will leaves the house to me, but she also owed quite a bit to credit card companies. Since this is our principal residence, am I expected to sell the house to pay the debts?

You may be able to set aside the homestead as exempt property. To whom is the house titled?
