Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

will probate

A letter was sent to heirs of deceased stating the place and time of probate. We arrived 20 minutes prior to ,only to be met in hall by deceaseds husband and attorney saying the judge arrived early so they went ahead and took care of probate. I am the eldest daughter.Deceaseds husband is my stepfather. Can that happen legally?

I presume you weren't contesting the probate, so you can't complain about proceedings prior to the noticed time. If you're curious about what happened, you can look at the court's file in the clerk's office and you can request a copy of a transcript from the court reporter - might be about $75 more or less.
