Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Are wills filed or recorded with county/state office

How do I get a copy of someones will? Background - 28 years ago my husband and I allowed his parents to adopt our child and were told he would be taken care of for life & inherit their estate. The husband became and ex and is now deceased. Recently my ex-in laws passed away and their biological daughter claims to be the executor of the estate and that what they had is left to her, however she has not produced a copy of the will and will not disclose the name of the attorney who did the paperwork. Recently she stated that she had power of attorney for her parents and therefore was responsible for all of their affairs and cited several reasons why the will had been changed. Changed how, she won't say. This is causing a huge family conflict. They also have two sons in addition to my son who want to see the will and reslove the conflict.

You are going to have to hire an attorney and demand that the will be produced which is being used to administer the estate. Better not delay, these things can be concluded quickly and then the property is gone. Not that she wouldn't still responsible as a fiduciary, but without the property or money, it's difficult to justify legal action to recover something that is gone - particularly money.
