Legal Question in Immigration Law in United States

I'm on L2 visa. Is it legal to work for a unpaid internship (without working permit) just to gain experience?

An L2 spouse can apply for EAD and work for any employer. There is no need to look for unpaid internships when one is eligible to work in USA (provided that they had obtained an EAD first).
