Legal Question in Employment Law in Utah
My employer pays piece rate, but often we finish a batch of production then have to wait a long time for the next batch to be brought out to process. I'm required to stay the entire time, just doing nothing waiting for the next batch to be brought out. This makes it so that I'm being paid less than minimum wage. Is this legal? What can I do to make them aware that they need to either give us more work or pay us minimum wage?
