Yes, money can be transferred to a minor. Many trusts provide that funds paid to a minor are also payable to the minor's parent or guardian to make sure the money is well used and not squandered. Many trusts also provide that the trustee can use discretion in payments to minors. Read the trust agreement to see what the duties, obligations, and rights of the trustee and beneficiaries are.
