Legal Question in Business Law in Vermont
No compete agreement
I signed a no compete agreement with a practice which I am preparing to leave. I agreed to not set up practice within 1 mile of current practice. A very affordable and convenient office has become available to me and it is just about 1.01 1.05 miles away from the site. Do you think that this could be contested or am I safe from any legal ramifications?

Re: No compete agreement
A non-compete for only 1 mile is a pretty short radius. There are other facts needed. What kind of a practice? What are the other terms of the agreement? N/C agreements are often void or voidable when they are too restrictive, or interfere with rights to work. Check with an employment attorney to get a definitive answer.
