Legal Question in Immigration Law in Vermont
In need of INS advice
My boyfriend from England came over on a 3 month visa, we inquired at the immigration office here about a fiancee visa. The person at the immigration office said it would be easier if we just got married before he had to go back to England and waited for the paperwork here in america. We had no intentions of getting married so soon, we did it as we were afraid how long we'd have to be apart from one another if we filed for the fiancee visa. It has been 6 months and finally we have everything we need to file and pay for the paperwork...I am worried as it has taken me a while to get everything together, I'm afraid my husband could get into trouble because it has taken us a while to file?? Do you have any advice? Thank you so much. --name removed--Waters
