Legal Question in Immigration Law in Vermont

Please save me from vaccines!

I am a native German, married to an American, with a newborn son. In the course of my immigration (Green Card) procedures, I have been ordered to have my medical exam done now. This will include immunization.

Problem is, I am totally anti-vaccination. I hold the firm belief that vaccination not only do more harm than good, I believe that they are obsolete, dangerous and detrimental to one's health and well-being. For the same reasons I am not letting my son get vaccinated.

I heard that I can apply for a waiver of immunization, but even the people at the INS were rather clueless as to where I can find the appropriate form and how to proceed further. My request was met with dismay, such as ''You will very likely be denied, especially in these times of warfare'', and ''You don't want to start an epidemic, do you?'' An epidemic of measles and mumps??????? I don't think so...!

My question is: Isn't it my civil right to refuse vaccination? Can they really deny me this right? Is there a particuliar form for this waiver application? Does it cost anything? In a nutshell: Please help me to avoid being vaccinated!!!! I am really scared.

Thank you in advance!

Re: Please save me from vaccines!

If a designated physician (civil surgeon for adjustment of status applications) certifies that it would not be medically appropriate for you to have one or more of the required vaccinations, or if the medical vaccinations would be against your religious beliefs or moral convictions, then you may be eligible for a waiver of the medical vaccination requirements for an adjustment of status application.
