Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia
My rights when my ex files bankruptcy.
My ex filed bankruptcy on our joint mortgage. Should I have received notification of her being absolved of liability from this joint debt? Why is she still listed on the mortgage? Am I responsible for taking care of that when I was not even notified. How do I fix the damage to my credit report?

You should have received notice as a co-debtor. Her filing bankruptcy will not affect your credit as long as you keep the mortgage current. She is no longer liable for the mortgage, assuming she was discharged, even if she is listed on your statement. She will remain on the deed unless you take legal action to remove her.
