Asking the Govenor for a Pardon

I posted a question a few days ago about expungement of A&B conviction in J&D court in VA. I would like to get my right to own guns restored. It has been 10 years since the conviction. When petitioning the Govenor for a pardon, should it be done by an attorney, or can a regular joe do it? And is it Likely that it can be accomplished?

Re: Asking the Govenor for a Pardon

Apparently, you may have misunderstood the answer that in all likelihood was provided to your previous question, i.e, unless you can prove that you were wrongfully convicted of the offense and have received a pardon from the governor, the record of the conviction cannot be expunged.

Therefore, assuming that you were correctly convicted, meaning by evidence that a reasonably objective judge or jury could conclude was evidence beyond reasonable doubt of your guilt, there would be no point in attempting to secure a pardon from the governor.

A pardon under these circumstances would not be forthcoming.
