Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I think my son did a bomb threat
My son is 19 and severly emotionaly disabled. He has a learning disibility. To look at him he looks normal, but has been through several evaluations over the years, and in several different residentual treatment facilities. Last year he got involved with the wrong bunch and was charged with grand larceny. He belived the boys but because he was over 18 and the other boys were minors he was the one that was found guilty. Now I think he called in a bomb threat on Wal-Mart. He was very upset that day and was having a real bad argument with his sister. He called me and begged me to come home. I told him I couldn't because I was working. I work at that Wal-Mart. Then he called Wal-Mart and did a bomb threat thinking they would send me home. He dosen't realize the severity of what he did. The Fire Marshall is investigating it and has been questioning us because of the calls from my house. If my son tells what he did and why and I tell them of his mental conditions what do you think will happen? Will he get jail time? He does not understand how bad what he did was.
