Desertion

My Daughter and Husband have been married for less then one year,she is 6 months pregnant,They had a argument,he left.She has not heard from him.Now if he decides not to return,Is he responsible for Bills they aquired during the time they were married?{rent,etc}and what would be the next step for her to take?

Yes, your daughter is jointly responsible for bills acquired while she and her husband were together. Her next step should be to make every possible effort to locate the place where this runaway has secreted himself. Whether your daughter is pursuing the runaway for child support for the newborn or for the purpose of divorce, reimbursement for joint bills, or whatever, your daughter will need to know where he's hiding out so that he can be served with legal papers.

Once your daughter has located the runaway and

she's delivered herself of child, she may wish to speak with an attorney about filing for a divorce, if by that time matters between her and the runaway have not been mended.
