Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
I am trying to get a divorce from my wife. We were married for about one year (and have no children) and then I deployed to Iraq,in which she moved out of our apartment, that I still paid rent on. She never moved back in when I returned. I get a seperation agreement 2 years ago, that she never signed. I have been paying her $600.00 per month as well as full medical benefits as it states in the seperation agreement for 2 years as well. On June 10th 2009 she called me and ask me to meet her at my apartment, so I met her there and she was talking about wanting to do counsling, and she slept at my house that night. The next morning I went to work and she was gone by time I got home and I have not seen her in person since then. I am seeing a lawyer but she is giving me the run around and wont listen to what I have to say. When I had my wife served with the divorce papers I put the original date in which we seperated. She is saying that her lawyer said that if I go and sign the depasition with the original date on it, that I am commiting purgery. I am very concerned about this. She is also saying that she is going to sue me. If you have and advise on this I would be greatful. All she wants is the money and benefits. I want to move on with my life. We have not lived together for almost 3 years. But she seems to find a way every time to post pon it. I really need help. Thank you for your time.

If your current lawyer is refusing to listen to you on an important issue involving your divorce matter, it may be time for you to change lawyers.
