Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Can I file dessertion and be divorced quickly?

My husband and I have only been living apart for 2 months. I left the house on my own. Can I file for dessertion? If he doesn't contest, could this divorce be finalized quickly?

If you were the party who deserted the marriage, it would be up to your husband to file for divorce based upon this fault ground which you've mentioned and not you.

If you left, you may have deserted him so you should let him file for the divorce if you agree you committed desertion. As far as fast, easy divorces take about 4 months to finalize after you file it if you both agree to everything.

Good luck
