Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I no longer want to receive child support from my childs father and would like to cancel the order. he has been paying for years and years but I just no longer want it. he takes care of his child even though he pays child support and that is fine for me. how can I get this judgment cancelled and how long will it take?

As to how long it might take, that would likely depend on whether this order for child support

is in the J&D Relations District Court or in the circuit court as part of a final decree of divorce.

The court may also wish to know whether this father would be in agreement with your wishes

since the court would also likely have to consider whether such an action would inure to

the best interests of your child.
