Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Hi weird situation, but I need guidance. My son is the biological father of his child(proved by paternity test), but another man signed the birth certificate when she was born. Before my son could get the birth certificate changed, the mother had her husband adopt the child without my son's knowledge. The original man on the birth certificate agreed to have her husband adopt under step parent adoption. What legal course of action can be taken. My son wants to just let her husband stay as the parent and for him to just leave everyone alone. Will he be still responsible for child support?

No, not if this step-parent remains the adopted father of this minor child.
