Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
I have an agreement signed by my ex to pay back money he owes me; his Power of Attorney also signed the agreement. If he fails to stick to the agreement and I have something of his; can I hold it as collateral since he left it in my home?
Thank you.

Sure, as a practical matter you could withhhold this item of personal property until a judge ordered you to return it to him as a result of the Warrant in Detinue he filed against you in the local general district court.
