Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
I was on a dating web site that was free after recieving several emails from people I was curious an wanted to respond to them. Well finding out that I had to become a member to respond an the cost was 100.00 for a year I went ahead an joined. Being able to respond now I did . I then got responses back from several saying I needed to either go to additional web sites an pay more to get info to meet them. Also I have found that there are several people with different pictures an locations that have the same email addresses . I feel like this is a fraudulent activity that is sucking money out of inocent people looking for a service that is really a scam. Is there any lawyers or law enforcement whether local or federal that would correct this issue? This is I'm sure illegal! Can you help me stop this crime!

I would recommend that you send this "dating website" written notice of
the activity you've described accompanied by your demand for the return
of your $100.00. And, then, if they fail to act upon your demand, arrange for a
consultation with an attorney to determine the best way of initiating legal action against them to recover your losses.
You might also consider sending a letter to the attorney general's office of the
state in which they are currently headquartered and/or incorporated describing
these activities which appear to be odoriferous of fraud.
