Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia
I gave my ex fiancee an engagement ring, do i have the legal right to request it back? And if she has sold or pond it do I have rights to the proceeds?

Yes, the rule in Virginia for this situation apparently is that if the proposed marriage for which the engagement ring was given never comes to fruition, the ring must be returned to the giver or he should be entitled to its fair market value.

You have a right to ask for the ring back, but she has no legal obligation to return it. It was a gift, if she sold the ring she gets to keep the proceeds.
