A-2 visa doesn't provide a path to USA citizenship. A person first has to become a lawful permanent resident, then after 5 years he/she can apply for USA citizenship. Person can live on a diplomatic A-2 visa 18 or 50 years in the USA, and will not become eligible for residency or citizenship.
