Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

I have a good friend who is on Student Visa and got married to a U.S citizen and in the process of filling papers for this green card. His wife does not work and does not have W-2. He ask me to sign the Affidavit of Support for him. Do you recommend me signing the Affidavit of Support for him? As you know that I have done the Affidavit of Support two years ago for my wife.

Are you addressing this question to someone in particular? You realize that this is a public forum, and not a private communication with a specific attorney.

If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, AND your income (including self, wife, any other dependents) if above federal poverty guidelines, AND you are willing to undertake finincial responsibility for your friend (become a sponsor liable for reimbursement to the State or federal authorities, in case they apply for any means-tested benefitst), then yes, you can be a co-sponsor.
