Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

I was fired from work last week and wasnt notified until the day my final check was supposed to be deposited that i would have to bring in my uniform and sign paperwork before i would recieve my check. I told them without my check i have no transportation to work its a 20 mile drive. I offered to have a old coworker take them in they told me i have no option but to bring them in myself

Better find a way to make that 20 mile drive if you want to get that last check

anytime soon (would be my advice).

Perhaps, that "old co-worker" could arrange to give you a lift in to your former employer.
