my former employeer reduced my wages without letting me know. and I know that he is not allowed to do that, but I am waiting for the labor board to call me back. my question is can I get my check cashed as long as I keep my check stub??????????

You should check the back of the check for restrictive endorsement language

indicating that the payee's endorsement constitutes payment in full(or similar language). If the check does have such language and you endorse and cash it, you may have forfeited your claim to whatever balance you believe is still due you.

However, if there is no such restrictive language on the reverse side of the check, you should endorse it "with all rights reserved or a reservation of rights" before depositing the check with your bank.

(It would also be advisable to photocopy both sides of the check after endorsing it.)
