Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

logging bathroom breaks

Is a private company allowed to literally keep track of breaks? For example, writing on a form breaks under miscellaneous and specifying whether it's a bathroom, leg stretch, or eye break. In addition, time spent during such breaks need to be documented and verified. This to me is ridiculous!

Re: logging bathroom breaks

Yes, it may well be, but in an employment at will jurisdiction such as the Commonwealth, an employee working for such a company without contract protection can simply be terminated without recourse or remedy if s/he fails to comply.
