Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

I was just recently granted favor for my 1st month's rent and security deposit to be refunded from a landlord, since then it has been 30 days and the landlord noted the case with an appeal and the 30 days from the appeal has been up for almost a week now, the courts stated that since he did not perfect the settlemen that i needed to file a garnishment which is calling for more money out of pocket that i dont have, this whole situation has caused me so much strain and stress and late on my rent putting me behind on so , my question is should i find a lmany thingsawyer for pain and suffering and to also find out where the landlord banks, the courts stated i needed to know this before even trying to file a garnishment

Yes, you will need to know where the landlord works or banks in order to effect a garnishment.

You cannot, however, recover damages for pain and suffering in this kind of case.
