Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

I am renting a place and have been here for about two and half years. I have a one year lease in effect to expire in July. The owners have claimed bankruptcy and the unit I am in is now in foreclosure. A realtor that listed a property next door came by and said that I would be evicted once the unit goes into foreclosure. Is this correct?

Yes, once there is a new owner of the property resulting from the foreclosure, this individual or entity could evict you.
