Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia
Hello, My name is Brenda Best and I have a question. I had a slip and fall in a major grocery chain store last November 2008. I went to the emergency room and was told I had a broken bone in my right foot. I also had to get a prescription filled. I then had to follow up with a foot doctor. I paid for all the doctors appointments, prescriptions and copies of all records, lab fee etc. I spoke my attorney's office today and now he wants to file suit. I was also told that I now have to pay filing fee's. Is this right? Thanks for your help.

Yes, a plaintiff normally pays the costs of initiating a lawsuit (including the filing fee),
