Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia
Injury on the job
I fell at work and hurt my wrist. I was asked by my employer to do self help at home since there were no signs of injury. I went to a health care business, would not see me without authorization. Tried to do self care, not working told employer of problem asked to wait, soak it, etc. 1 week and 1/2 later. I told him that I needed tohave it looked at. He ok'd but asked that I tell them that I fell that morning. I didn't want to lose my job, do I did. I apparently have a fractured wrist and get my cast off in a few days, however, I am still in pain and don't know what will happen from this point on as to my liabilty for bills if there is more of a problem and I lied. Please, What do I do?

Re: Injury on the job
If you were injured at work, seriously enough
to have the symptoms which you've described, you would be well advised to file a formal workman's
compensation claim, making sure that you answer all questions on the claim forms truthfully and to the best of your knowledge.
This way in the event that there are latent problems with your injured wrist which may manifest themselves at a later time, you will have taken the steps necessary to insure that your treatment will be covered by the necessary insurance and that you will be entitled to receive any other forms of compensation which may be due you as a result of this injury.
