Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Reckless driving ticket at Hanover county I-95

I got a ticket for reckless driving on I-95 for 82 mph/65 mph speed limit on my way to Richmod from Fairfax, N. Va. I have done this to avoid tailgating truck and got with Trooper with radar. Do I need to hire attorney or can represent myself with Hanover county court. What is the best and worst outcome on my hearing.

Yes, you could represent yourself before the Hanover County Traffic Court, but it would be better to have a lawyer experienced in this particular court representing you.

However, if that cannot be arranged, you could see the prosecutor assigned to your case before court begins on the date scheduled for your hearing and offer to plead guilty to a reduced charge of speeding(some figure below 80mph).
