Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Removing name from car title
My mother in law's name is on her daughter's car title. She wants to have her name taken off but the daughter will not go to the DMV to take care of it. Is there anything MIL can do to have her name taken off? MIL does not want to be held responsible for child's actions. She is 19 and has moved to NC and will not return to VA to take care of it. She has VA tags and all on the car but is living in NC with her boyfriend. Thank you.

Why does she need to go to DMV? Can be done by mail with the proper paper work and signatures. Feel free to email me if you have other questions or need help.
