Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
My son (20 yrs old) was pulled for speeding and discovered his license was expired. He was ticketed for both. He renewed his license immediately (the same day as the ticket). What should we expect at the court and how should we prepare?

Make sure to take the paperwork showing that he had his license renewed to court. The judge is going to want to know that he rectified the problem. Depending on your son's background and driving record they may amend the charge or maybe (maybe) even dismiss it. As to the speeding, there are things he can do to help with that, but he should consult someone as to which of those things are the best option. Expect the court costs for both to run a couple hundred dollars.
