Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
Right to sell Property
My grandparents died and left me a home.In the will it reads''I am left a life-time home at the adress. Then it says if upon my death i hereby give, devise and bequeath the property to my daughter.Does this mean that i can not sell the property?I thought it meant that if i died before my grandma that she was to leave the property to my daughter. Now i would like to sell this property. Can I?

Re: Right to sell Property
If you've been given a life estate in this property, you cannot sell it without the signature of the person known as the remainderman on the sale contract, which in this case would appear to be your daughter.
