Re: Adoption

The best way to handle this is to wait until you are married for a step-parent adoption. If the uninvolved biological parent agrees to this, they can sign off or waive their rights to the child, and although there are background checks and a social worker's study to be completed to verify the child is safe with your then spouse, there should be no problems getting this done.

The keys to success in this situation are you being married and the other biological parent consenting to the adoption. I am happy to help you in that regard. If you don't hire me, do yourself a huge favor and make sure that you hire counsel, otherwise, you are going to spin a lot of wheels and waste a lot of time and money trying to get this done and in the end may have to hire an attorney anyway.

I hope this helps!
