custodial parent

Can both the mother and father be the custodial parent....Or can they switch every other year say odd , even?

Assuming you are separated or divorced only only one parent at a time can be the custodial parent. I have set up a parenting structure for a divorcing couple that provided that the parents alternated years being the custodial parent.

You can do both. While I generally do not recommend it, in two separate cases, both done in the past year, I have set up parenting plans where both parents were deemed custodial parents.

There is also no reason that you cannot have alternating custodial parentage.
