me and my husband were apart for 13yrs and i want to get divorce

i want to get a divorce, my husband is living with his new wife as he call it, how should i do in case like this, My oldest son granduated from specail school, now his at home with me and i cant get a job because i have to take care of him and fix his food and take him to his doctor appointments, is there anything that says that the father should help take care of him too, Please let me know what should i do in this case. Me and my oldest son are living on his ssi check every month to pay the bills and for food too. I know its not much but it pays for the rent and other bills. please let me know what should i do on this case.

I think you ought to use google and look up the northwest justice project and see if they will take your case on at no charge (this is called pro bono representation). If they will not, look up the Washington State Bar Association and see if they can refer to you someone.

Bottom line, depending on your son's age and exact mental health circumstances, I think you can get some support from your soon to be ex-husband. It may come in the form of spousal maintenance or child support or a combination of the two. A lot will depend on your husband's economic picture as well. The more he can afford to pay, the more likely you will get more money for a longer period of time.
