Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
If I lost my parental rights when my son was 12 years old, and his adoptive parents threw him out and he has been living with me for 8 months now, and he is 17 years old now, can he continue to live with me?

Considering they have tossed him out, and I presume don't care about him, yes, your son can live with you. If his adoptive parents come looking for him between now and his 18th birthday, they may be able to get him back, but you may be able to put up a fight in court that you may be able to keep up until he turns 18, after which he is free to live where ever he so chooses.
Following on the immediate answer, with which I agree, the real issue for you is whether there are legal consequences to you. I have two questions: (1) Have you told his adopted parents he is with you? and (2) Is he with you with your approval? See RCW 13.32A..080, -.082, and -.084, which can be found at http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=13.32A. RCW 13.32.082 is the most important
Though you have probably failed to give his adoptive parents notice within 8 hours, if you notify them now and get their approval, you will not be guilty of harboring a runaway under RCW 13.32A.080(1)(a), which begins "A person commits the crime of unlawful harboring of a minor if the person provides shelter to a minor without the consent of a parent of the minor and after the person knows that the minor is away from the home of the parent, without the parent's permission, . . ."
Depending on the circumstances, your son may also have a lawsuit.
CORRECTION: My prior answer should be corrected on two points. The first sentence should begin: "Following on the prior answer . . ."
And my second question posed should read: (2) Is he with you with the approval of his adopted parents?"
