Legal Question in Family Law in Washington
I paid for someones lawyer (mother of child) in a custody case in Washington state. The other party (father of child) was held in contempt for not appearing and was ordered to pay back the 1,000$ that I paid for the attorney. The money will be paid back to the lawyers firm in an account set up by them but it is now under the mother of the childs name so i cannot access it, basically she would have to decide to give the money back. If she refuses to give the money back is there any way I can legally get it back from her?

Yes. Your option is to sue the mother. You will need some proof that this was alone and not a gift. For the amount in controversy, you will need a written document signed by the mother whose legal fees you pay.
