We have been residing in King county for 5 years, although we married in the UK can we file for divorce in Washington, we both have green cards.

Yes, either of you may file to initiate the dissolution of your marriage in King County. Your immigration status and the place where you were married are not considered to determine whether you may do so. Your residence does, which in this case is in Washington.
