Re: how to revise parenting plan

It depends on when the Parenting Plan was entered and what you need done. Did it just happen? Was it a mistaken entry that no one intended, such as the wrong dates for a vacation, or something akin to that? If so, you may be able to revise the plan by agreement with the other party through an agreed motion to modify the parenting plan based upon whatever the specific error that was made.

If on the other hand this is more about seeking to revise because there are changed circumstances since entry of the original parenting plan, then you are going to need to start a modification case, which starts with the summons and petition to modify the parenting plan.

There is a lot to it, and I do not have the room to go through it all here, but if you do this, I suggest that you hire or consult a professional, and if that is out of your budget for any reason, then I suggest you try local legal aid clinics in your area.

Best of luck!

Re: how to revise parenting plan

You file and serve a petition for modification. You will also have to file a summons and proposed parenting plan. In your petition you will need to articulate a reason for the modification. If this is a modification based on relocation of the primary residential parent the process is different.
