Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington

Hello, I'm a green card holder.

I have a theft 2 on my record. I'm in the diversion program, in a year when I finish the program the charge would say dismissed.

Can I apply for US citizenship right now? Or if I apply right now it will get declined?

Thank you very much.

To apply for USA citizenship through naturalization, an applicant must be able to prove a Good Moral Character for the previous 5 years. Having a theft conviction, one obviously is lacking a required good moral character. In addition, any permanent resident should keep in mind that certain convictions can render his removable (deportable) from the USA.
