Legal Question in Insurance Law in Washington

insurance settlement

I was in a car accident almost 2 months ago--stopped at a red light when rear-ended by someone going 50mph. The other driver's insurance company made me a low offer to settle then told me it would be off the table in 24 hours with the amount decreasing after that. They took almost 2 months to cut me a check for my totalled vehicle and are now trying to rush to settlement days later. Can they force me to settle that quickly? I am pregnant and not really comfortable about seeking any kind of medical treatment for my neck, back and shoulders until after the birth of my child.

Re: insurance settlement

You have plenty of time to preserve your claim under the Washington statute of limitations for personal injury claims. I would strongly advise you not to settle your claim before the extent of your injuries is determined and you have received the treatment you need. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your case. Thanks!
