Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington
I recently resigned after 10 years with an employer. For the last 4 years my employer, a County Hospital District, has paid me far less then the published pay range for the position I was appointed to perform.. Two employees before me doing the same work did receive compensation within the established pay range but I was denied it without justification. I am the only employee out of 80 positions not paid at least the bottom step of the pay range assigned to my position. The pay range document showing all pay ranges, was approved by the Board in a regular recorded Board Meeting in 2011. I objected to this to multiple superiors and did receive several increases but never reached the starting pay rate I deserved. Is this just unfair or do I have any legal rights? -Alicia S.

Very probably, if your information is consistent with your former employer’s records. There is always the possibility that they weren't telling you everything, but that’s another matter.
You should also qualify for double what your employer short-changed you and for the employer to pay your attorney fees
Put together a package of all of the documents you can get and which support your claim and let me or another lawyer know what you have. Time to get paid!
