Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Washington
my 1st year lease ended, and now i am paying month to month. As of February 2011, we have new landlords. Am I forced to sign a new lease?

No. If they ask you to sign one, you can either sign it, negotiate the terms they propose and then sign a lease, or your last option is to refuse and ask to remain on a month to month basis.
Keep in mind, if you remain month to month, either you or the landlord can give a 20-day notice to terminate the lease and that's it. You will have to move.
