Lease
If my life has been threatened by a tenant's guest or son, can I get out of my lease without penalties?

Re: Lease
I'm not sure if you are a tenant at the same place or the landlord. If you are the landlord, depending on how your lease is written, you may be able to evict the tenant and the threatening son or guest.
If you are a tenant in the same building, then your best bet is to obtain a restraining order preventing the guy who threatened you from coming within 500 feet of you, which effectively evicts that person from the premises. Due to the fact that your restraining order would have the same effect as an eviction, you are going to need solid proof that the threat was made (witnesses, written statements, video, things like that) otherwise, it will be tough to obtain that sort of restraining order.
