How to respond to a Summons and Complaint

Need advise on how to respond in this matter. We are being civially sued by victim from a deferred case with my juvenile son. I need help please.

You need to file an Answer to the Complaint and deliver a copy to the attorney for the person suing you. Assuming you are being sued for a substantial sum, I would advise that you hire counsel to represent you. You may have to take out a loan to do this, but consider that if you lose the case, this may become a lot more expensive than a loan to hire an attorney.

I would be happy to offer a free consultation which would at least provide you with some basic information to know what you are facing so that you can make an informed decision about how to proceed.

Last, if you are served in Washington, you have 20 days to file the answer and serve it on the other side before they have the right to seek an order of default, awarding them everything they ask for, so whatever you do, do not pass that 20 day deadline.
